Garden addition

My excitement, finding adorable garden art to add to my most favorite space. My husband and I were out shopping when this adorable caterpillar caught my attention and kept it.

I haven’t found its final destination yet, but everytime I walk past it, it makes me smile.

The great

The great southern white caterpillars have reappeared in the garden. I left the pepperweed growing in the garden. Some that I found growing in the yard, I dug up and plainted in pots, as it is the host plant for this butterfly. I am happy to say some are still green and doing great.

Surpassed 600 raised & released

We had nine monarch butterflies emerge this morning in the butterfly house, taking our grand total to 605 monarchs raised and released over the past few years.

The lifecycle is always amazing to watch. The release even better. But, honestly what tops it all is watching how excited my kiddo remains all these years later of releasing a butterfly.

Busy beauty

The orange barred sulphur butterflies have been super busy in the garden the last few days. This one continuously stopped and deposited eggs on my bahama cassia tree, which will soon be crawling with caterpillars.

So many

And it continues . . . monarch csterpillars everywhere on my giant milkweed. The Southwest Florida skies were an amazing blue today, inviting more butterflies into the garden.
